Adult ADHD on YouTube

Have you watched videos on YouTube? I've often seen the funny ones, I love the film of the skateboarding dog... it's amazing! It's frightening how much time you can waste looking at all the videos on YouTube (not something I do when i'm supposted to be working!). I searched ADHD & found many films, some good & some not so good! I came across this one & thought i'd post it as it's a really great piece on Adult ADHD.

What do you think? any other recommendations? (remember also to look for the one with the skateboarding dog!)

How Do You Solve a Problem Like ADHD?

Great news! I've been asked again to speak at the 8th ADDiss Conference in London in March on Coaching Adults With ADHD. This looks to be another great ADDiss conference with lots of fantastic speakers lined up including Thomas Brown who will be speaking on subjects such as "So Smart, Yet Struggling ADHD in High IQ Children, Adolescents & Adults & also Challenges of ADHD for College & University Students.  Prof Loretta Giorcelli will be speaking about "How Do You Solve The Problems of Attention & Behaviour: ADHD in the Classroom. Adult ADHD 'not treated properly'

A report published in the British journal of Psychiatry concludes that adults with ADHD are not treated properly & do not receive enough support.

It says "Research suggests that between 15% & 65% of children diagnosed with ADHD still have symptoms of the disorder in adulthood. However, many children with ADHD go unrecognised, and may be diagnosed in adulthood for the first time".

Professor Phil Asherson said that some adults might have already been misdiagnosed with a different mental health problem, and be receiving the wrong sort of treatment.

Hopefully this will help raise awareness for the many adults with ADHD.

The following quote  arrived today in my daily email from Brian Proctor. I do think it's particularly appropriate (especially at the start of 2007) ......we all need to create a life around what we love, then things go a lot more smoothly!  So what motivates you? what makes you excited about life? Have you included it in your outcomes for 2007?  I know I have.  The coming year will be full of all the things I love doing. Hope yours will be as well?

New Year Resolutions....

First of all, & most importantly, wishing you & your loved ones a very Happy New Year! May 2007 be your best year yet.

New Year's Resolutions for many people often don't last long (i've been guilty of this in the past). The start of a New Year is a good time to think about what you want your outcomes to be for the year ahead. I always encourage my clients to write down their goals, something I do as well. It really helps to think ahead to the outcomes you want as well as making detailed plans to achieve those.
