Sara

So fantastic to hear the womens hour broadcast. I am 42yr old women, who was diagnosed with ADD (INATTENTENTIVE TYPE) at the Maudsley in September this year. I have spent my whole life in a "muddle" and am a chronic under acheiver, as I find it almost impossible to stay focused and finish tasks..I actually thought I had dementia !. Had a great GP who listened to me, and a couple of enlightened psychiatrists on the journey to the Maudsley referral. Most important of all was to be taken seriously.. I self diagnosed by accident following a conversation with my sons teacher who was worried about him. (I soon realized all the symptoms actually referred to me as well!)I am sure more women will be able to identify their mystery "condition" following this valuable interview. By the way I am on Strattera (Atomoxetine) and it has CHANGED MY LIFE !!!!!!

Linda

Sara, it's lovely to hear you are doing so well since your diagnosis. Hopefully the interview will help raise more awareness of Adult ADHD & also give some people answers & an understanding of themselves they may have been looking for for a long time! Have a wonderful Christmas. Linda x
