Welcome to all my new readers who may have found their way here after listening to me on Radio 4 Womans Hour today. I hope you found the piece helpful - it's good to talk about Adult ADHD, something which affects so many people & which gets so little recognition & support. It was fun to go to the "Beeb" & see what goes on behind the scenes of radio. Jenni Murray was absolutely lovely & a joy to share conversation with. It was also lovely to meet up again with Phil Asherson & also to meet Kelly who so eloquently explained ADHD from an adult perspective.

Enjoy :)

So fantastic to hear the womens hour broadcast. I am 42yr old women, who was diagnosed with ADD (INATTENTENTIVE TYPE) at the Maudsley in September this year. I have spent my whole life in a "muddle" and am a chronic under acheiver, as I find it almost impossible to stay focused and finish tasks..I actually thought I had dementia !. Had a great GP who listened to me, and a couple of enlightened psychiatrists on the journey to the Maudsley referral. Most important of all was to be taken seriously.. I self diagnosed by accident following a conversation with my sons teacher who was worried about him. (I soon realized all the symptoms actually referred to me as well!)I am sure more women will be able to identify their mystery "condition" following this valuable interview. By the way I am on Strattera (Atomoxetine) and it has CHANGED MY LIFE !!!!!!

Sara, it's lovely to hear you are doing so well since your diagnosis. Hopefully the interview will help raise more awareness of Adult ADHD & also give some people answers & an understanding of themselves they may have been looking for for a long time! Have a wonderful Christmas. Linda x
