I came across a quote by Dr.Ned Hallowell (Co-author of Driven to Distraction). He said "The best non-pharmacological treatment for ADD is exercise, sex, and humor". I think his recommendations apply to everyone! Certainly makes life more fun ;)
I've found over the years that my clients who exercise experience many benefits, physically (of course, we all know that!) as well as benefiting the brain & emotions. I remember one of my earliest clients (some years ago now) told me that he managed his ADHD almost exclusively with exercise. He is a very successful entrepreneur & businessman & had found out for himself that his brain worked better & he was far more productive when he exercised (sometimes several times a day & at great intensity). Of course we don't all have the time or motivation for so much exercise, but even just a 20 minute walk at lunchtime, 10 minutes on a rebounder or climbing stairs can really help to
